I haven't been to Charleston Fashion Week, but I feel like I know everything there is to know about it! As the Art Institute of Charleston is one of the primary sponsors, being an employee in the Fashion department at our Art Institute, I get at least one email per week regarding CFW. The most recent one I received detailed a list of celebrities appearing at CFW including Bill Murray (uhh... how sweet is that!?!?),  and individuals from Mad Men. If I ever showed a collection at a fashion week, I'm pretty sure I'd want Bill Murray sitting in the front row. That man is golden.

Lilly Pulitzer Trunk Show at Monkee's: March 29, 2011

I've got another Tuesday event for you! On March 29, 2011 Monkee's is hosting a Lilly Pulitzer  spring trunk show. The event takes place from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm, which gives you plenty of time to hit that up before heading out to Blush Boutique.  The Monkee's event promises sweet treats, surprises, champagne, and giggles. Coqutte Trunk Show Featuring Judith Bright and Justine Sylvie: March 29 - April 2, 2011

More and more fashion events keep popping up in conjunction with the upcoming Nashville Fashion Week. I am loving this! And my calendar couldn't be more jam packed with fun festivities. THANK GOD this is finals week for my students, and i.e. next week I don't have to teach! Now with that being said, of course I have one million things to do to prepare for the upcoming quarter in addition to my usual load of one billion pages to read and a thousand papers to write for my Doctorate classes... but nonetheless, I may actually have some free time to hit up these siiiiiiiick fashion happenings. 

I had to give a shout out to my girl Judith Bright and their upcoming trunk show associated with Coquette and hats by Justine Sylvie. The event will take place March 29 - April 2, 2011 at the Judith Bright store in Green Hills Mall. How ridiculously fun does this look?! Annnnnd, I've seen my student who interned at JB sporting some of their latest jewelry designs, and omg, I died. Love it!!

Born and raised in Nashville, Beth "Freshie" Lawrence hand-makes her jewelry using a hammer and wire, resulting in modern, classic and geometric pieces that are beautiful in their simplicity.

Also born and raised in Nashville, Karibeth Thompson combines her passion for antiques and art through her line of one-of-a-kind reconstructed vintage jewelry, layering found vintage heirlooms to create modern statement pieces.

Nashville-based designers Jessica Maros and Kyah Hillis draw inspiration from both Victorian and global (Indian, Egyptian, Native American, Eastern European) influences for their line of jewelry, handbags and small accessories. Each piece of jewelry isone-of-a-kind, hand-made with vintage lace, jewelry and watches.

STUFF – Vinyl and Vintage Sale: March 19, 2011

This Saturday, March 19, 2011, from 11:00 AM – 5:00 PM, Sabrose Vintage will be hosting a vinyl and vintage sale. The event will be held at 604 Gallatin Rd. #124. According to the Facebook invite, shoppers can expect a huge array of vinyl records from hip-hop, jazz, house, drumNbase, country, rock, soul, etc.. Also, Sabrose Vintage says they will be breaking into their vaults for their first blow out sale in three years. Expect menswear and womenswear, shoes, purses, accessories, art, books, magazines, etc.. Annnd, unlike many of the diy vintage sales I’ve been to, they’ll actually have dressing rooms. Score!
